Dear Baroness Taylor of Stevenage,
15 Chandler Street, Wapping – Application number PA/24/01545/NC Chang of use to a substance Misue Recovery Centre with associated internal alteration
Thank you for your letter of the 21st October 2024. Received by email.
We have engaged with the council and the Planning and Building department. There have been to date 1170 planning objections submitted by residents and stakeholders.
I have attached the latest document sent to the planning department in relation to access to the proposed facility.
Whilst I expect Planning and Building control to be robust in their procedures, my concern is the process pre planning application.
The council has breached its statutory obligations to consult in an apparent effort to avoid scrutiny and accountability and rushed the application through to planning. The authority has no innate right to pick and choose which parts of statutory process it complies with. It has breached Best Practice Guidelines. The process itself is now illegal and void as a corruption of formal notice and should be stopped immediately.
I would ask that the government call in the application to ensure the corruption of process is not allowed to continue.
